The Editorial Board of „KRONOS” Philosophical Journal adheres to and acts according to the principles set out by the Committee on Publication Ethics.
The Editorial Board strongly condemns academic and scientific dishonesty, ghostwriting, plagiarism and auto-plagiarism. The Editors are obliged to carefully investigate any account of suspected misconduct and, if necessary, take appropriate measures to counter it in cooperation with the academic community. The Editors shall take reasonable steps to identify and prevent the publication of papers where research misconduct has occurred. In no case shall the Publisher or the Editors encourage such misconduct, or knowingly allow such misconduct to take place. If the Publisher or the Editors are informed of any allegations of research misconduct, the Publisher or the Editor shall deal with the allegations appropriately.
The Publisher and the Editors will not spread allegations of misconduct until the credibility of the allegations is verified. If the allegations are verified, the Editorial Board will terminate all forms of co-operation with the author.
The Editorial Board is willing to publish corrections, clarifications, retractions and apologies when needed.
“KRONOS” Philosophical Journal does not re-publish research articles already published elsewhere in English, although it publishes translations of articles and important literary and philosophical texts, as well as transcripts of lectures and seminars. As a journal devoted to textual research, “KRONOS” publishes recent research articles as well as texts by important authors which serve as a historical document and are subject to textual research. Texts which serve as historical documents are not subject to submission and peer-review procedure.
The Editorial Board strongly supports freedom of speech and believes that a normative stance is a part of the scientific and academic ethos. “KRONOS” Philosophical Journal will never act in compliance with censorship. The Editorial Board is willing to publish papers characterized by various types of normativity unless they do not include openly racist, sexist, defamatory, chauvinistic or discriminatory statements.
Important literary and philosophical text serving as a historical document may include openly racist, sexist, defamatory, chauvinistic or discriminatory statements. As such, they should be accompanied by proper scientific commentary published as a separate text. The Editorial Board does not accept any sort of interference in the texts by deceased authors or in the translations of texts by deceased authors, regardless of their normative content.
Since the thematic scope does not include any fields of experimental or empirical science, the journal does not accept any articles basing on research on humans and animals.
The Editorial Board does not accept any offers regarding publication of advertisements. The Journal may include announcements of recent publications which the Editorial Board considers important and attractive to the research community. The content of the announcements is chosen by the Editorial Board. The announcements are clearly and visibly separated from the rest of the content.
Since the thematic scope does not include any fields of experimental or empirical science, the journal does not accept any articles basing on research on humans and animals.
The Editiorial Board uses „double-blind” peer-review system. Each submission is reviewed by 3 in-house editors. In the case of a positive review by at least 2 editors it is passed on to an external expert for further review and recommendation for publication. The Editorial Board guarantee protection of reviewers’s data and confidentiality of the submitted materials during the review process.
The Editorial Board accepts submissions of articles both by one and by multiple authors. If there is more than one author, it is presumed that the corresponding author acts on behalf of all authors.
The authors are expected to participate in the peer-review process, and to accept or reject potential corrections or retractions suggested by the Editorial Board. The authors are expected to confirm the final proofread version of the article as soon as possible after receipt.
The publication at “KRONOS”. Philosophical Journal is free from any fees. If the research related to the submitted article is subject to an external financial support, the authors are expected to declare it.
If an author is aware of a potential conflict of interests related to his or her submission, it must be declared to the Editorial Board. The Editorial Board will take measures to solve such conflict of interests and will note persist upon publication of submissions which are subject to conflict of interests which seems insoluble.
Authors must grant exclusive copyright license to August Cieszkowski Foundation to publish their essays. Essays may be subsequently reprinted by the authors, providing that the previous publication in ”KRONOS. Philosophical Journal” is properly acknowledged. All authors are considered equal regardless of their sex, race, nationality and religion.
